Quillan Salkilld walked into the Meta Apex as the No. 9 lightweight and the presumptive spoiler. He walked out with Mateusz Gamrot's spot in the conversation. The rear-naked choke came in the first round, Salkilld's fourth straight finish inside the opening five minutes, and it ended a fight most had circled as a measuring-stick loss for the rising Australian.
