Silva Survives Scare, Finishes Delgado at Noche UFC 4

Jean Silva headlined Noche UFC 4 in Glendale and did it the hard way. Delgado gave him trouble early, enough that Silva looked like he might be in for a long night. He wasn't. A one-armed rear-naked choke in round three ended it, and Silva walked out talking about a featherweight title shot rather than a rematch.

Brandon Moreno needed this one. He'd been sliding, and a split decision over Joseph Morales isn't the kind of win that gets replayed for style points, but it stops the bleeding. Nobody in that division is writing him off after Saturday.

Alexa Grasso took care of business against Manon Fiorot, a clean decision that keeps her squarely in the flyweight title conversation. No fireworks needed there, just twenty-five minutes of doing the job.

Four fighters left Arizona six figures richer. Tommy McMillen banked another bonus, the kind of streak that stops looking like luck. Silva's finish was the one everybody's replaying, but the judges and the paymasters spread the credit around.

Delgado came in as the rising name nobody wanted to face, and for a round and a half he made Silva look human. That's the takeaway that should follow him into his next fight more than the loss does. Moreno, meanwhile, proved a skid isn't the same as a decline, and that's worth more to him right now than a highlight-reel finish would have been.
