Brendan Allen did not get Christian Leroy Duncan out early. He got him out late, in the fifth round, with a rear-naked choke that ended the main event and extended his own win streak. Duncan had come in as the finisher with momentum. Allen out-patienced him instead, then called out a former champion on his way out of the cage.
The finishes did not stop there. Four fighters walked away with $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses, and nobody got a Fight of the Night nod because the card simply did not need one. Andre Fili put Kai Kamaka III flat with a head kick that fighters around the roster were still talking about after the show. Otari Tanzilovi matched him blow for blow, dropping Malcolm Wellmaker with a head kick of his own. Niko Price added a first-round finish and left the retirement question unanswered on his way to the back.
Not every ending was a celebration. Gerald Meerschaert took a knockout loss and closed out a 60-fight career on the spot, calling it in the cage rather than waiting for a decision he didn't need to make.
The night's quietest story belonged to Brendson Ribeiro. Carrying a four-fight skid into the cage against Felipe Franco, he needed less than two minutes to flip the narrative, and he did it without any of the fanfare the knockout artists got. Nobody circled his name before the card started. Everybody will after it.
